Hair

These last few weeks at the salon have been so much fun! Thanks to all my family and friends who have been in to support me! Last week my cousin Jessie came in to get her hair cut and colored! Here are after and before pics.

A Night at Shoguns

Shoguns Restaurant on main street in downtown SLC is a happenin' hot spot on Friday and Saturday nights during "happy hour" from 11 pm - 2am. My friends have made a habit of going every weekend and it is always a good time. It's a fun chill place to relax and eat uber good sushi!

*** In other news, my first week in the salon went off without a hitch. Things there are amazing and I love the people I work with. They're all extremely friendly and I can tell I am where I am meant to be. Things will start out slow, but they will pick up. A shout out to Mattie who let me remove close to 12 pounds of hair off her head. Thanks for supporting me.

Discovery Gateway

Last Saturday was my FIRST free Saturday in 2 years! It was cause for a celebration so I slept in, and then Jordan and I took my cousins Will and Tyler to Discovery Gateway. It was slammed with kids. It was a good adventure though. Fun for all ages! Will loved climbing the rock wall, even though he looks slightly terrified.

Tyler had fun, even though he told his dad that he was "scared to death" to go with us.

I Passed!!!

I know there was never any doubt in anyone's mind as to whether or not I would pass this test, but I thought I would post proof just in case! It's official! I'm a stylist fo real yo.

State Board Exams

This week I have been getting ready to take my state licensing tests and it's been NERVE RACKING! The test has 2 portions, theory and practical. I take the practical tomorrow, and the theory on Friday.

For the practical, I have to demonstrate a haicut, facial, color...and a ton of other lame things. I have to take everything in a "kit", or bucket, with everything labeled inside for each portion.

There are so many things to remember! Everyone wish me luck!

Must Have Music

One thing that everyone should know about me, is I am completely in love with good music. My ipod goes everywhere I go, and I would die without it. These are my 3 favorite albums right now. Check them out. I promise you won't be disappointed.


1. Dustin Kensrue - Please Come Home

This is a solo project from the lead singer of the band Thrice. It is full of alt. country/folk/rock music. Very honest and powerful lyrics make this album a must have by all who enjoy a good accoustic guitar and vocals that make you melt...err...something like that.

2. Joshua James - The Sun is Always Brighter

It is rare to find an album that you enjoy every single track. This album is full of songs that are mellow, yet edgy, with lyrics full of emotion and sincerity. Although many tracks require a "breaking in", a few listens through; you're hooked!

3. Air Traffic - Fractured Life

I love this new band from the UK. They seem to remind me of Keane and Coldplay, which happen to be 2 other favorites of mine. They're hook driven brittish/piano-rock sound leaves you wanting more! Very fun to listen to.

I think I may have found a new calling in life! Music critic. I think I wasted 2000 hours of my life doing hair school.

To Everyone's Shock and Amazement

My blogging sabbatical has officially ended! I have had zero time to blog, but that is all changing now! I graduated from cosmetology school last Friday, and I figure I need a little something to keep me entertained now! Check back often, because I PROMISE to blog better.
